The Victor/JVC SEA-80 is one of the prettiest pieces of vintage hi-fi you can put in a rack: a 10-band-per-channel stereo graphic equalizer from 1979 with a built-in, glowing fluorescent spectrum analyzer right in the middle. Slide the faders to tune your room or your taste, watch the response light up in real time, and use the onboard pink-noise generator and measurement mic input to actually dial your system in properly. It is from the golden era of Japanese audio, so the build is gorgeous and the sliders feel wonderful. As much a centrepiece as a tool, this thing looks incredible lit up in a stereo stack.
