The PolyBrute is Arturia's six-voice analog flagship and one of the most expressive synths of the modern era. Two Brute oscillators per voice run into dual analog filters (the steely Steiner-Parker and a creamy ladder), and the whole patch can morph continuously between two completely different sounds: by hand, by the Morphee 3D touchpad, by the ribbon, or by the mod matrix. It is dripping with performance control, full-size keys with velocity and aftertouch, that gorgeous wooden ribbon, a polyphonic sequencer and arpeggiator, and stereo analog effects. Capable of lush pads, raw basses, glassy wavetable-ish tones and everything between. A genuinely deep, hands-on, 20kg slab of modern analog.
FEATURES & PROS:
GENRE / USE
A modern flagship for sound designers and for electronic, ambient, film and pop producers. Its morphing engine and twin filters cover lush evolving pads, raw analog bass, glassy leads and cinematic textures, and the ribbon, aftertouch and Morphee pad make it as much a live performance instrument as a studio workhorse.
THE WORD: Sound on Sound's Gordon Reid praised the PolyBrute's morphing engine and expressive control as a standout modern analog poly. Read the review at Sound on Sound.
